Ani-Jam & Challenge Screening

Ani-Jam

It's back, the ever popular Ani-Jam. No pencil tests here, we go straight to ink. With some light tables, pens and camera, this is an evening of caffeine fueled drawing, fun and socializing.

Everyone at the Ani-Jam will have the chance to draw a short segment of animation. We'll have 4 or 5 light tables set-up to keep things moving along. At each station, someone draws a segment to start. Then the last frame is handed to the next person who works from that image to make a segment of their own. The drawings keep getting passed from animator to animator. After everyone has had a chance or two to draw, we'll add some tweens to tie all the stacks together. The drawings will be digitized right there for an on-the-spot screening that always gets a good laugh. Take a look in the videos section to see the results of last quarter's Ani-Jam. If you own a portable light table, please bring it along.

While people are drawing and socializing, we'll watch the submissions from the Spring Animation Contest.

Guests are welcome!

Animation Challenge

We've started calling them Challenges instead of Contests. We're giving people an opportunity to stretch their limits or just have some fun. Then screen the results for the local animation community. The Spring theme is "In The News!"

Here's the Winter Contest Page.

Submit your short animation. Any medium accepted. If you send us a Flash or Quicktime file, we'll post it on the ASIFA website or group page. Entries will be screened at the Ani-Jam.

Have fun, and don't take it too seriously!

We run the challenge quarterly and screen films at the Ani-Jams.
