Wednesday July 14 7-10 PM Join ASIFA Seattle and Sly Studios for a screening of the Scottish Ninjas the pilot episode. Scottish Ninjas is an animated series now in development. Sly Studios is a Kirkland production house formed to produce Scottish Ninjas - an animated show about three drunken Scottish brothers, Finn, Lachland and Aidan, whose father trains them to be ninjas. The three Scottish Ninjas travel to the United States to fight crime and drink beer. Sly Studios is talking with Cartoon Network about airing on Adult Swim, FX and others. So come have a drink and a laugh. After the screening there will be a Q&A with the animators and present a sampling of the production art. They will discuss developing and animating and pitching the show. Come talk about everything from story arcs to rendering techniques. Guests are welcome! 
Ani-Jam & Challenge ScreeningAugust 19 7-10 PMRendezvous Red Velvet Lounge 2322 2nd Ave, Seattle, WA 98121 21+ venue The ever popular Ani-Jam. No pencil tests here, we go straight to ink. We'll supply the cards, pens and camera. We'll try to remember the light tables this time, you can bring your own if you have a portable one. All you need to do is show up for an evening of drawing, drinking, food, fun and socializing! Everyone at the Ani-Jam will have the chance to animate a very short sequence. We'll have 4 or 5 light tables set-up to keep things moving along. Someone draws 10 or so frames to start. Then the drawings are handed to the next person who adds a few frames of their own. The drawings keep getting passed from animator to animator and the animation morphs as it progresses. After everyone has had a chance or two to draw, we'll add some tweens to tie all the stacks together. The drawings will be digitized right there. Then at the end of the evening we'll screen the animation. While people are drinking and drawing, we'll watch the submissions from the ... Animation ChallengeHave fun, stretch your limits or try a new technique. Then screen the results for the local animation community. The Summer theme is "Swing Dancing" Here's the Winter Contest Page. Submit your short animation. Any medium accepted. If you send us a Flash or Quicktime file, we'll post it on the ASIFA website or group page. Entries will be screened at the Ani-Jam. Have fun, and don't take it too seriously! We run the challenge quarterly and screen films at the Ani-Jams.
