Just a short reminder about tomorrow night's Ani-Jam. Come on out to the Art Institute of Seattle's Cintiq Lab and explore the technology. Draw directly on your personal screen and see a demo of video layers in Photoshop.
We're starting at 5PM right after classes end, but we'll be there till 9 so people can stop in when it's convenient.
We should have news about the Animation Show of Shows soon. We'll post it on facebook and the website when we know the details.
Pease ask about ASIFA membership at our events. Help us support the animation community and make events like Ani-Jams, Demos, Screenings and the Animation Show of Shows possible.
See you at the events,
Steve

Time for our next Ani-Jam. Our first all-digital edition! We'll be there from 5–9 in the evening. Drop in when you can, and stay as long as you like.
This time we'll be in the Art Institute of Seattle's Cintiq Lab. Draw right on the screen! No light tables or pens needed. All you need to do is show up for an evening of drawing, fun and socializing!
We'll use the Cintiq tablets to draw a series of frames. Then the drawing file will be handed off to the next participant. After everyone has had a chance or two to draw, we'll add some tweens to tie all the bits together and screen the results.

Bad Penguin
They made it! Tony White and Phil Clarke, Jr. got over $12,000 of pledges through Kickstarter. That allows the Animaticus Foundation to produce a trailer for their first animated feature film.
Bad Penguin tells the story of Cooper, a blind jazz musician who befriends an angry, armed-to-the-teeth penguin that wishes to show Clover City how it feels about Christmas. In a world where a man's life is worth less than the change in his pockets, can a blind man teach the bird that people and Christmas are both worthwhile?
Once upon a time, in a far away land, cartoons were drawn by hand. Teams of artists painstakingly illustrated cartoons frame-by-frame, creating lavish worlds and colors only previously seen in imagination. In today's computer world, this craft is all but forgotten.
