Mark Caballero and Seamus Walsh, two of the brightest talents in stop-motion animation, make 3-D animation “the old-fashioned way” with armatures, foam latex puppets and all the hand-crafted trimmings.

Through their Los Angeles-based studio, Screen Novelties, they recently completed Ray Harryhausen’s “The Tortoise and the Hare,” winner of the Annie Award for Outstanding Short Animated Film, and puppet animation sequences for Fox’s “The Simpsons” (Davey and Goliath spoof) and Cartoon Network’s, “The Flintstones” and “Courage the Cowardly Dog.”
Other films include the live-action puppetry and stop-motion combo film, “Graveyard Jamboree (Mysterious Mose)” and the Starevitch-inspired “Old Man and the Goblins.”
Screen Novelties is one of the few remaining professional animation studios specializing in stop-motion animation.
